The hospital group HLA (Asisa) has bought the Hospital La Salud de Cádiz from the Alter Capital fund and other shareholders. The operation, which was signed this Friday, has been closed at almost four million euros, according to sources close to it. The hospital, with 40 beds, allows to increase the supply in Andalusia of the HLA group, which ranks third in the region in the ranking of hospital groups by billing, after QuirónSalud and Vithas.
 
The Hospital La Salud de Cádiz was until now owned by the Alter Capital fund (62%), whose managing partner is Ángel González Bravo; of Alejandro González and Ángel Coronado, former director of the aforementioned health center. Garrigues, through his partner Luis Collado, Has directed the legal advice of the hospital and the sellers in the operation. Uría, for his part, has advised the Asisa group.
 
"Asisa has taken a step further in the expansion of its care network in Andalusia with the acquisition in Cadiz of the Hospital, which will be integrated into the HLA Group. With the incorporation of this clinic, a reference center in private health in Cadiz, Asisa strengthens its own network, expands its medical staff and improves the quality of care it provides to its insured and patients," the company reported.
 
"The Hospital La Salud is a center in full growth process after the implementation in recent years of an investment plan that allowed to increase its facilities by 25% (up to 5,000 square meters) and renew some units such as ICUs, outpatient consultations, diagnostic tests or part of its 40 rooms. In the last two years, new specialty units and the international department have been put in place. In total, the hospital has more than 40 medical specialties," Asisa reports.
 
The incorporation of the Health Hospital to the Asisa group "is part of the strategic plans that the company develops with the aim of growing and strengthening its presence in Cadiz, where it maintains the HLA Jerez Puerta del Sur Hospital as a reference hospital center. The HLA group, owned by the insurance company Asisa, whose director in Andalusia is Valeriano Torres, had in 2019 in the autonomous community six hospitals with 615 beds: Mediterranean (Almería), Inmaculada (Granada), El Ángel (Málaga), Santa Isabel (Seville, Jerez Puerta del Sur (Cádiz) and Los Naranjos (Huelva). HLA's private hospitals in the region add up to 615 beds and employ 1,500 people. In addition to these six hospitals, the autonomous community has fourteen medical centers, polyclinics and clinics in Jaén, Córdoba, Almería, Seville, Cádiz, Huelva and Malaga.
 
For its part, Alter Capital Desarrollo is the only Andalusian venture capital manager, registered with the CNM and based in Seville, 95% owned by Ángel González Bravo. After selling the 62% it had from the Health Hospital, Alter Capital maintains 15% of Clever Global, which is listed on the Alternative Stock Market (MAB) and specializes in the control of subcontractors for large constructions through its own software; and 35% of Dental Company, based in Seville and already with 95 centers in Spain (30 of them own), which makes it the fourth national company in the sector.
